Aquamedic Kalkwasser is a calcium hydroxide powder for the production of Kalkwasser (lime water) for salt water aquariums. Aquamedic Kalkwasser can be used in Kalkwasser reactors and stirrers. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions. The addition of Aquamedic Kalkwasser improves the water quality in your reef aquarium by increasing in calcium level and lowering the phosphate concentration by precipitation (if the KH is high enough). The growth of hair algae is also inhibited and the development of calcareous algae is encouraged. Aquamedic Kalkwasser can be used in all Kalkwasser reactors or Kalkwasser stirrers, following the manufacturer's instructions. The best method is to replace the evaporated water in the aquarium using Aquamedic Kalkwasser solution pumped into the tank by an Aquamedic Niveaumat (peristaltic pump with float switch) from a reservoir.
