Aquarium Cleaning

Aquarium Cleaning

Aquarium cleaning is often seen as a chore but can be simplified with many of the products in our aquarium cleaning section. Our selection ranges from non toxic aquarium cleaning solutions to glass scrapers and gravel cleaners.

One of the essential aquarium cleaning tasks is to ensure that the gravel does not become to blocked with gunk. The easiest way to clean the aquarium gravel is to use a aquarium siphon. The siphon cleaner is ideal to use as with part a water change as it acts like a vacum sucking up the gravel, swirling it realeasing it once the lighter rubbish has gone into the bucket via the hose.

Another essential aquarium cleaning product is a aquarium glass cleaner. These range from a bladed stick to a magnetic scrupper. The easiest method to glean aquarium glass is to use a floating aquarium glass cleaner which if it become dislodged from the aquarium glass will float to the top. If you want to give the glass and other bits a good scrub then you cant look past the heavy duty scapers as they come with a coarse pad on the end of a plastic stick and are great for a good bit of elbow grease cleaning.

One overlooked product is the pipe cleaner. The filter pipes from external filters often fill up with junk and are worth giving a once over as they can restrict flow rates if left for too long. They are very easy to use and well worth the effort.

Something which is becoming more popular of late is the glass cleaners. A number of companies are now offering products which can be used to safely clean the exterior of the glass without causing any possible harm to fish.
