JBL NovoPleco Chips are algae chips containing wood designed specifically for herbivorous sucker-mouth catfish, as they contain 10 % wood for optimal digestion and provide the necessary cellulose constituents which these fish require for a balanced diet. These chips have been specially balanced to meet the nutritional needs of plant-nibbling sucker-mouth catfish (such as Plecostomus and Ancistrus species) and other plant-eating, ground-feeding fish. These new-style chips are designed to sink rapidly to the floor of the aquarium to the level at which these fish feed, and they do not dissolve in water, reducing water pollution to an absolute minimum and also giving shy and slow-feeding fish the opportunity to feed later in peace. In addition to Spirulina and a high proportion of green nutrients, the JBL NovoPleco Chips, which sink in water, also contain energy-providing wheat germ. Stabilised vitamin C and other vital vitamins (A, D3 and natural vitamin E extracts), will strengthen your fishes' resistance to disease.
Feeding guidelines: Give as much JBL NovoPleco Chips as can be eaten in approx. 20 minutes, once or twice a day (also at night, if necessary). As these Chips are stable in water for up to 24 hours, without disintegrating, a few uneaten Chips will not pose any water pollution problems.
