Preis Algan is designed to fight red and black algal growth in sea water aquaria. These nuisance algae will reproduce rapidly in waters with a very high or very low nitrate or phosphate concentration, tanks with poor lighting conditions, deep ground materials and low water movement. Some tap waters may also contain spores which can be introduced to your tank if not treated correctly. Preis Algan is designed to help keep these algae under control, and is completely harmless to invertebrates and more highly developed marine algal species. Once you have treated your tank with Preis Algan, we recommend a water change, and make sure that there is a sufficient current set up in your aquarium.
