
Seachem Purigen 1 litre. Seachem Purigen is a unique synthetic absorber. Seachem Purigen uses a macro-porous synthetic polymer to remove removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water. Seachem Purigen removes nitrogenous organic waste which release ammonia, nitrites and nitrates.
Seachem Purigen can be recharged by using bleach and following the directions on the container.
Directions for use:
Rinse in a de chlorinated water and fill a fine mesh bag or old stocking. Place in Filter or sump and leave it to get on with the job. Each Litre of Seachem Purigen treats up to 400 litres of aquarium water for up to 6 months. When the Purigen beads turn a dark brown or black they are ready to be recharged
Recharging Seachem Purigen:
In a non metallic container mix half bleach and half water and leave Purigen to stand in the solution for 24 hours. Rinse well and then leave to soak in de-chlorinated water for 8 hours. Rinse well again. Make sure your de-chlorinator does not have a slime coat producer as it may render Seachem Purigen useless. To test if Purigen has been successfully recharged smell for chlorine or put in a container of water and test for chlorine. If no smell is present then the recharging has been successful.
